This Privacy Policy describes how VidShrink: Video Compressor ("VidShrink", "we", "us", or "the App"), available on Google Play under package name com.vidshrink.vidshrink, handles your information.

VidShrink is designed as a fully offline utility app. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data.

1. Information Collection and Use

We do not collect any personal information. You are not required to create an account, register, or provide any personal details to use VidShrink.

• We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
• We do not collect device identifiers (such as IMEI or Android Advertising ID).
• We do not track your location or GPS data.
• We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or user behavior metrics.

2. Media Processing & Local Storage

VidShrink processes videos entirely on your device using local Android hardware codecs:

• No Cloud Uploads: Your video files are never uploaded to any remote server or third-party cloud service. All compression, trimming, resizing, and audio extraction happen locally on your phone.
• Temporary Files: Any temporary cache files created during video compression are stored in the app's private sandbox and deleted immediately upon job completion or cancellation.
• Output Files: Compressed videos are saved directly to your device storage (such as your Movies/VidShrink folder) where only you have access to them.

3. Device Permissions

VidShrink requests only the minimum permissions necessary to perform video compression on your device:

• Photos and Videos / Storage (READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used exclusively to allow you to select videos from your gallery to compress.
• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROCESSING): Used to prevent Android from terminating video compression tasks while the app is in the background or while the screen is locked.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used solely to display the ongoing progress notification and notify you when compression has completed.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

VidShrink contains:

• No third-party advertising SDKs (no AdMob, Unity, etc.)
• No third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, etc.)
• No user tracking cookies or web beacons

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because we do not collect or upload your files to any external servers, we hold no user data on servers to retain or delete. You retain 100% control over the files on your device and can delete any compressed or original video at any time through your device's gallery or file manager.

6. Children's Privacy

VidShrink does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. The application operates offline and collects no information from any user.
